Italian with Ema is a service that provides Italian courses online, via the Internet through video call (Teams, Skype) and in person in Vienna. The courses consist of 50 minute long classes for adults (20+).
Below are the terms and conditions for the use of the website, the services and products Italian with Ema offers. By accessing the site or using the services provided, it is affirmed that you have read and understood the terms presented here, and you accept them.
Italian with Ema reserves the right to change the prices at any time and take responsibility for correcting any errors that may occur inadvertently. Italian with Ema may change the services without notice at any time, cease offering certain services or modes of service usage, and impose limits on service usage. Additionally, Italian with Ema reserves the right to suspend or permanently delete access to the services without notice.
The services and all materials on the site, including, without limitation, software, images, text, graphics, logos, photographs, audio, video, and music, are the exclusive property of Italian with Ema, unless otherwise specified. Booking Italian lessons
All lessons bookings must be agreed to in advance with your teacher via e-mail at the following address: business@emasangermano.com
Your teacher will confirm the date/dates and time of the lessons at least 24 hours in advance. You must confirm the date and time by answering the teacher’s e-mail at least 24 hours in advance.
It is possible to book a 20 minutes consultation before purchasing a lesson or a package. It is not possible to book more than one consultation per student.
Lessons are performed on Teams, Skype or in presence in Vienna, 1020.
Payment and fees
All fees and transactions are in €, unless otherwise agreed. All lessons must be paid for in advance. You may choose whether to purchase a packages of 5 or 10 lessons. Lessons must be completed within 6 weeks from the date of the first lesson for packages of 5 lessons, and 3 months from the date of the first lesson for packages of 10 (see below: Package duration).
In the event that charges are applied to a bank transfer or other payment, such charges will be the responsibility of the student.
Italian with Ema reserves the right to change the fees at any time and with no advance notice.
Payments shall be arranged using Bank Transfer services (PayPal is an option but with a 5% addidional charge in order to cover PayPal fee).
Technical requirements
Broadband internet access is required to ensure the quality of the sound and video. In case of a slow internet connection (poor audio/video quality) the teacher may ask you to switch off the camera to improve the audio quality.
You will also need a microphone and/or headphones, and a camera.
Refund
If you decide to terminate your course and will not attend the rest of the prepaid lessons, no refund will be made by Italian with Ema.
Italian with Ema reserves the right to cancel any lessons pre-arranged and/or pre-paid in any circumstances and will refund the client with the remaining amount of the pre-paid lessons that have not been completed.
Students who cancel an Italian language course at least 10 days before the beginning of the course will be refunded the full cost of the course (if paid), less any bank charges, (such as the cost of an international bank transfer). If, instead, the cancellation should happen less than 10 days before the beginning of the course no refund will be made. No refunds will be made for Italian language courses which are interrupted or not finished.
To withdraw from such an “online” contract, you should notify Italian with Ema by sending an e-mail with the same term at business@emasangermano.com.
Italian with Ema will repay the whole amount you paid within 30 days of the date we receive the registered letter notifying us of your intention to withdraw from the “online” contract. It is your responsibility to provide Italian with Ema with bank details.
The right to withdraw from an “online” contract is NOT valid when, at the moment the contract is made, the seller undertakes to supply the services specified in the contract at a particular date or in a specified period. Neither is the right to withdraw from an “online” contract valid when, with the agreement of the purchaser, the provision of the service has already begun before the period allowed for exercising the right to withdraw has ended.
Cancellation and delay policy
If you are unable to attend the lesson at the agreed-upon time you must notify your teacher by email at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel the lesson with less than 24 hours notice, miss the lesson completely, or fail to log in within 15 minutes following the lesson start time, the lesson will be considered as if it was completed and will not be refunded.
The teacher reserves the right to terminate the lessons in the case of unforeseeable circumstances, including the following:
- extremely bad audio quality
- disruption of the Internet services on either side of the lesson
If extremely bad audio quality and/or disruption of the Internet services are on the teacher’s side, the lesson will be rescheduled. If extremely bad audio quality and/or disruption of the Internet services are on the student’s side, you will permitted to reschedule a 30 minutes lesson only.
In case of any unforeseen circumstance, if more than 30 minutes of the lesson have already been completed, the entire lesson will be considered as completed.
In the case that you are late and you have not informed the teacher of the delay, the teacher will close the lesson after 15 minutes and charge you for the lesson.
Package duration
Our packages of lessons have a fixed duration, meaning that lessons need to be used within the following time frames:
- 5 lessons: 6 weeks
The 5-lesson package is valid for 6 weeks from the date of the first lesson. This ensures steady progress while offering enough flexibility.
- 10 lessons: 3 months
The 10-lesson package is valid for 12 weeks from the date of the first lesson. This allows for steady progress with the flexibility to accommodate your schedule.
When additional lessons are purchased, the time frame will be extended accordingly.
In case a student doesn’t use all of his/her lessons within the given time frame, the lessons will be lost.
Exclusion of liability
Italian with Ema cannot at any time be held responsible for any damage caused by the performance or inadequacy of the services of any third party (e.g.: the Internet, Teams, Skype, etc…).
